NOTE: This article is for first-time voicemail setup. If you already have setup your voicemail and just need to change your greeting or password, see this article: https://customer.astoundant.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/9/Voicemail-Greeting-Change.html

The voicemail system provides 3 different greetings: unavailable, busy, temporary. The initial setup will guide you through recording your unavailable and busy greetings. IMPORTANT NOTE: Choose a password that is different from your extension/account number. Otherwise, your voicemail inbox will reset, erasing any voicemail messages and greetings.

Unavailable: the system will play this greeting for callers when they reach voicemail and you are not on another call.

Busy: callers hear this greeting when you are on another call but don't answer their call.

Temporary: callers hear this greeting when you have a temporary event happening and don't want to record over your unavailable greeting (e.g., vacation).

Press the voicemail message button (looks like an envelope icon or a sideways "8" icon), or dial *97. If you are asked for a password, enter your extension number.

The system will guide you through the initial setup of recording your unavailable and busy greetings, and changing your password. After this is complete, the system will respond with "you have ___ messages." This indicates that you are at the voicemail main menu. IMPORTANT NOTE: Choose a password that is different from your extension/account number. Otherwise, your voicemail inbox will reset, erasing any voicemail messages and greetings.

At this point, your voicemail is setup. You may hang up or follow the prompts to listen to any voicemail messages you may have.
